Position Details: 

POSITION:           Full Time Teacher - STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math)                      
LOCATION:          Charlotte Public Schools – Parkview, Washington & Galewood Elementary                      
ASSIGNMENT/RESPONSIBILITY:        The STEAM Teacher will have responsibilities for K-3rd grade direct instruction to students in the subject areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. A wide variety of tasks are performed in the teaching-learning process for students, the primary one being to help students learn the subject matter and skills that will contribute to their  development as mature, able, and responsible adults.
QUALIFICATIONS:            Prefer bachelor’s degree in early childhood, education or other related field. State of Michigan teacher certification required. STEAM training and certification. ZA endorsement preferred, and other highly qualified requirements through ESSA. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of elementary school curriculum and philosophy, effective instruction principles, assessment procedures and learning and motivation theory. Demonstrates the personal qualities of an effective teacher including the ability to collaborate with other staff and the ability to communicate well with a wide variety of audiences both in writing and verbally. Demonstrated ability to work independently and, to coordinate and direct the work of others. Demonstrated ability to interact proactively with parents. Prior professional development in early literacy and subject matter literacy.
