Position Details: 

Desktop, AV and Phone System Technician
Internal/External

Install, maintain and provide problem solving services of end user computer hardware and software, audio visual equipment, phone system and related equipment. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:                                           
 

  • Support of end user desktop and laptop systems and mobile devices with peripherals including device operating systems, application software and imaging
  • Monitor help desk system and respond to requests in a timely manner
  • Install, maintain and support all desktop software associated with LAN/AV equipment
  • Maintain RESA’s classroom environments, including setting up computer and audio visual equipment in meeting rooms for presentations
  • Support Moves, Adds, and Changes to Hosted voice over internet protocol phone system
  • Provide support for email and office products
  • Comply with Wayne RESA’s computer Inventory systems and procedures
  • Maintain an orderly work area for repairing equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
 

Education
 

  • Associates Degree in Computer Technology or equivalent post-secondary hours required

Experience
 

  • Minimum of two years of experience in computer hardware or electronics and LAN office products required

SPECIAL SKILLS AND TRAINING 
 

  • Maintain a current skill set and ability to use those skills in a self-directed way
  • Ability to work swing shifts, weekends and holidays on as needed basis
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills required and the ability to effectively use those skills in training and the provision of effective customer service
  • Demonstrated skill working with diverse populations required
  • Demonstrated experience in Windows and Mac OS environments
  • Demonstrated experience in support of voice over internet protocol phone systems desired
  • Microsoft SCCM or other imagining software experience desired
  • Google and Office 365 support experience desired

Compensation: 

Current WCSSF 12-Month Salary Schedule – Track 2.5 ($43,948 - $68,521 FY) and a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including health/dental/vision/life and long-term disability insurance. Generous time off including 19 paid holidays, sick and personal business days. Membership in the Michigan Public Schools Employee Retirement System www.michigan.gov/ors. The position is represented by the the Wayne County Salaried Staff Federation Local 4479 (WCSSF).
