POSITION: Early Childhood Speech and Language Pathologist


  1. Valid Speech and Language Pathologist Certification.
  2. No physical or mental restrictions that would, with reasonable accommodation, prevent performance of the essential job functions and responsibilities.
  3. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation as work assignment is throughout Muskegon Area Intermediate School District.


  1. Previous work with infants and toddlers and/or home visiting experience.
  2. 2.Successful completion of the Essentials of Early on training modules
  3. 3.Trained in Infant Toddler Developmental Assessment (IDA)


  1. Works as part of a team in a Primary Service Provider Model, in which the team member will be required to work on all aspects of a child’s development and utilize other team members for support and guidance.
  2. Directs instruction to parents by providing meaningful coaching to facilitate the skills necessary to support their child’s development.
  3. Supports parents to incorporate child outcomes as part of daily routines.
  4. Supports the family in connecting to other services in the community that they may need and assists in the referral to those agencies/services.
  5. Facilitates and participates in learning/playgroups for infants and toddlers.
  6. Participates in co-visits with other staff to learn from and/or support staff and family needs.
  7. Facilitates all aspects of the IFSP including conducting interviews, documenting growth on overall development and updating outcomes as necessary.
  8. Maintains accurate and up to IFSP paperwork, transition paperwork, COSF, contact logs, and service notes.
  9. Works collaboratively with local district teams/preschool teams to support families and children transitioning out of Part C services.
  10. Participates in the IEP process for children transitioning to Part B services and/or programs.
  11. Maintains positive and open communication with parents, staff, and administration.
