Position Details: 

SUMMARY: This district administrator provides instructional leadership to elementary staff by forming and articulating a clear educational and school community vision that supports academic achievement for all students. The skills and knowledge needed for this position include curriculum planning, review and implementation; leading teaching for learning; the understanding and knowledge of working with at-risk populations; and an active involvement with building and district professional development.  The principal is also responsible for leading the day-to-day building administration and the safety and welfare of both students and staff; and is visible and available to students, staff, parents, and the community, and other educational partners. May be the Director of Sonoma Before and After Care Program.


REQUIREMENTS: ▪ Master’s degree in Education/Educational Leadership and at least five years of teaching and/or administration experience.

▪ Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate

▪ Valid School Administrator Certificate or Valid School Administrator Permit.

▪ Outstanding leadership, communication, and motivational skills.

▪ Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in an environment with frequent interruptions.

▪ Prefer someone with an Early Child endorsement/degree as this school building houses a Before and After School Childcare program

▪ Prefer someone who has special education knowledge and is willing and committed to working with the special education program an services.

Position is 220 work days per year.
