Position Details: 

SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENT WILL BE DETERMINED BY CANDIDATES SKILLS/EXPERIENCE.

Preferred Skills:
K-12 Special Education teacher possessing the following attributes:

 

  • Knowledge of Research-based instructional practices
  • Working knowledge of the State Standards and Benchmarks
  • Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning practices
  • Demonstration of effective classroom management techniques
  • Exceptional communication, analysis, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative way with teachers for inclusion purposes
  • Understanding of, or demonstrated training in, PBIS and MTSS initiatives
  • Ability to teach varied ability-level students in same classroom

 

Eligible candidates must meet the following qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate w/ K-12 Special Education Endorsement
  • Ability to conduct IEP meetings and complete IEP forms in conformance with the MI Special Education and IDEA rules
