REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree

Major/Minor in Physical Education/Health

Meet State of Michigan's requirements for Highly Qualified status

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Highest character indvidual with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic.

2.   Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.

3.   Knowledge and experience with Common Core/GLCE's/HSCE's for grades 6-12.

4.   Ability to work collaboratively with professionals to improve sound instructional practices and assessments.

5.   Effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues in a variety of ways.

6.   Proficient supplementing lessons with the usage of technology.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience teaching at the secondary level.
Experience instructing strength and conditioning.
Experience instructing P.E. with heart rate monitors.

Knowledge and experience with curriculum alignment, mapping, and developing common assessments.

Knowledge and experience co-teaching.

Willingness to participate in extra-curricular duties.

Background working with learning disabled students and ability to implement differentiated instruction practices.

Preference will be given to those candidates who possess a business education certificate (GX).
Preference will be given to those candidates who possess a teachable minor certificate.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

1.  Develop assessments and instructional tools that correspond to the Common Core/GLCE's and HSCE's.

2.  Use various instructional methods to meet the needs of all students while focusing on the benefits of creating a life-long healthy and fit lifestyle.

3.  Keep accurate student records that include but not limited to attendance, grade scoring, and grade reporting.

4.  Display effective management skills that include but not limited to daily classroom procedures, discipline, individual student progress, and emergency procedures.

5.  Regular, in-person attendance is required.

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:
Per P-W Teacher Master Contract
