Human Resource Generalist assigned to Pontiac School District

SALARY DETAILS:

$28.478 to $32.563 / Non-Exempt position / 12-month work year

IN THIS ROLE:

You will provide human resource functions in the following areas: onboarding, recruitment/talent acquisition, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits and training and development. 

 

WHAT WE NEED:

We are seeking an energetic, collaborative team member to work closely with assigned departments to lead recruitment efforts for vacant positions within the organization. Facilitate onboarding process with new employees including: PA 189 requirements, reference checks, documents requirement by law/policy and PCF completion, and conduct employee onboarding sessions and serve as primary point of contact for assigned employees.

 

This position will administer all aspects of the position control system in accordance with Pontiac Schools’ financial and accounting practices. Process all new employee paperwork including inputting data into the payroll system and filing necessary state and federal forms; administer special pay including bonuses, stipends, and longevity and severance payment along with inputting employee status changes into the payroll system. This position will act as payroll liaison between Human Resources and Finance for new hires, adjustments, and terminations. Assist in the creation of employment contracts including inputting of annual salary increases into the District’s HRIS system and preparing data to merge with contract templates.  This position will also process the Registry of Personnel Report (REP) for staff and contractors and provide assistance with open enrollment and benefit meetings.

 

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Associate’s Degree in human resources management.
  • Two or more years of related experience.
  • Ability to properly operate required office equipment such as a personal computer, fax machine, copier and the like.

 

 

WHAT WE PROVIDE:

Hourly Rate: $28.478 to $32.563.

 

The Human Resource Generalist assigned to Pontiac School District is a full time employee of Oakland Schools. Employees assigned to staff the Human Resources Office at Pontiac School District are employees of Oakland Schools’ working pursuant to an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between Pontiac School District and Oakland Schools. The IGA is a long term arrangement which cannot be terminated by Pontiac School District without 180 days’ notice.
