Position Details: 

Position:    High School Director of Vocal Music


Level:    Grades 9- 12


Location:        Lakeshore High School, Lakeshore Public Schools,  Stevensville, MI  49127


Responsibilities include:

·         Direction of Four Curricular High School Choirs

·         Teaching Introductory Music Theory course

·         Direction and/or Music Direction of School-Wide Musical

Additional Information

·         Accompanist in the classroom 2 days a week

·         Choirs have performed at ACDA-MI Convention, Michigan Youth Arts Festival, MSVMA District and State Festivals, as well as in New York City,                with the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra, and throughout the school and community

·         Motivated, hard-working musical students and supportive community



·         Valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate in Music Education (JX or JQ)

·         Choral Music Education Background (piano and singing skills)

·         Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within the music and fine arts departments

·         Organized, student-centered, motivated

·         Experience in leading a successful HS choral program. This includes outstanding performances/ratings at Choral Festival, Solo-Ensemble                        Festival, Honors Choir and performances at State/Regional Conventions

·         Experience with  Musical Theater as a Vocal Director and/or Director


Preferred Qualifications

·         Advanced piano and vocal skills
