Digital Communications Intern

Choice Schools Associates is looking for a dynamic, well-rounded communications intern. 

As the team’s digital communications intern, you will be working directly with the communications and marketing team members on projects related to digital communications, including MailChimp, social media, and Wordpress. Every day will be different as you assist with internal communications as well as support the various and unique schools we manage across Michigan. Projects include, but are not limited to, leading the transition to a new email platform, scheduling social media and email campaigns, website content maintenance, writing copy for Choice’s corporate communication materials and communication material for school culture purposes. Employment:  Late Fall / Winter internship, hourly

Hours:  20 hours a week between the hours of 8:30am – 4:30pm. The schedule is flexible, based on your class schedule.

REPORTS TO:    Chief Development and Communications Officer


  • Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or related field
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Google Drive
  • Experience using WordPress, MailChimp, and OntraPort - other marketing services are a plus 
  • Very comfortable working in Google platforms 
  • Strong copywriting and proofreading skills are a must (this ranges from conversational copy to more journalist writing)
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Have a go-getter attitude and a strong work ethic
  • Dependable, punctual, and honest
  • Work closely with the marketing team and the graphic designer
  • Work in a fast-paced, agency-style environment
  • Maintain project schedule and fulfill demanding deadlines
  • Ability to take direction from multiple people and determine project priorities
  • Ability to accept criticism and direction positively
  • Team player, but willing to take ownership when necessary
  • Ability to contribute to marketing ideas and planning  
  • Write content for multiple uses including flyers, posters, Facebook posts/ads, newsletters, email and marketing campaigns, etc.
