    Associate Teacher for Great Start Readiness Program


Location:                               Huron Park Elementary 

Days/Hours:                          Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. –  4:00 p.m.

Salary:                                   $16,102 Annually


QUALIFICATIONS (Per State Grant): 

  1. Must minimally have one of the following: 
  • An associate’s degree (AA) in early childhood education or Child Development or the equivalent;
  • A valid classroom CDA credential; or
  • An existing 120 Hour compliance approval


  1. Ability and aptitude to work with four-year-old children in a preschool environment.
  2. Good Physical health.
  3. Record of excellent attendance.


  1. Work at the direction of the lead teacher to assist and develop the GSRP program.
  2. Supervise children and assist in all activities as necessary including lavatory, meals, snack, playground, arrival and dismissal.
  3. Assist in reinforcing programs set up for special problems.
  4. Dispense medication as may be assigned.
  5. Assist in maintaining organization in the classroom.
  6. Participate in in-service and training.
  7. Uses the Early Childhood Standards of Quality to guide instruction.
  8. Understands and implements the curriculum with fidelity.
  9. Uses Program Quality Assessment (PQA) results to make adjustments to better meet the needs of children.
  10. Help interview parents and conduct home visits.
  11. Assess students and keep detailed records of student learning and growth.
  12. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
